Release, February 2010. First Green Key
award in the Middle East for Moevenpick Resort & Residence
Aqaba!
The
Moevenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba is the first hotel in
the Middle East to be certified by the International and
National Green Key Eco-Rating programme.
The
Green Key is an eco-label for tourism facilities that aims to
contribute to sustainable tourism by awarding the promoting
good initiatives. The Green Key aims to
change the practices and behaviours of tourism actors
including enterprises, authorities, guest and local
communities and to involve them in taking responsibility for
their own environment.

Aqaba has unleashed the highly anticipated "Royal Suite",
seven months after the hotels' successful opening in November
2009.

yacht available throughout the guests' stay, and guests can be
offered the possibility of linking the entire floor's balcony
with adjacent bar for a total of 300 sqm of personal space
with the most dazzling panoramic view of the Red
Sea.

Jordan, April 2010 - Mark Satterfield,
Chief Operations Officer for Marriott International for Middle
East and Africa, has announced the appointment of Nihad Kattan
to Country General Manager to Jordan and General Manager of
the Amman Marriott Hotel effective April
2010.
In
his previous role as Area Vice President, Nihad played a major
role in strengthening relationships with current and
prospective owners in the Middle East and Africa which has
been critical to support Marriott's growth in the
region.

Resort Tala Bay Aqaba opened its doors at the end of June
2010. It followed in the footsteps
of Zara Spa at the Mövenpick Resort &
Spa Dead Sea, which was ranked #1 for 2009
Destination Spas category by Condé Nast.
The opening of Zara Spa in Aqaba marked the
second opening of a full fledged stand alone Spa to be managed
by the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
